Stone Farmhouse

Chilliwack, BC

Alluding to the additive nature of old farm buildings, the home and outbuildings were conceived as a narrative whereby a stone farmhouse (1) with farm outbuilding (2) were subsequently connected (3) with a breezeway. Lean-to additions(4) were eventually infilled to provide more living space to the family home, and a new larger barn (5) added. The individual aspects of the forms are reinforced by the varied exterior material selections, and by extending them into the home. The interior color and material selection are by the clients and reflect their creativity and love of color.
